Structure of OTCase

Four structures of human OTCase have been solved by Dashuang Shi in our group and deposited in the Protein Data Bank

1C9Y OTCase liganded with carbamylphosphate and norvaline
1EP9 OTCase liganded with carbamylphosphate
1FVO OTCase liganded with carbamylphosphate solved from a different space group
1OTH OTCase liganded with the bisubstrate analog N-phosphonoacetyl-L-ornithine (PALO)

The active form of the enzyme is a homotrimer.

A view showing the active trimeric form of the enzyme. PALO can be seen in the active sites
that are located at the intersubunit interface.
